It was a normal Friday drop off at school (though now I am working for a before/after kids club so drop off is around 20 children - which isn't normal I suppose).
I waved at the school bursar and walked out of the school gates chatting to a friend. "Somerfield is closing down today" she said and told me about the cleaning bargains she had bought earlier in the week.
Well me being me, walked quickly across the supermaket and filled two hand baskets full of goodies (couldn't use a trolly as I didn't have a £1!) I got to the checkout and paid. It was only then I realised my car was on the other side of town (as we park and walk the children and walk through the town centre). Luckily, I caught another friend's eye in the queue and she waited patiently for me and drove me back to my car.
At that point most of us would go home. NOT ME! I had overheard the sales assistants saying that everything that didn't have a sale price sticker was being reduced to 50p when I was stood in the queue waiting to pay.
OBVIOUSLY I had to go back for more. I managed to find lots more bargains.
A the end of the pay I paid £17 and £23 for 132 items ; about 30p an item.
Friday was my FRUGAL day but I did feel some GUILT as lots of people have lost their jobs and I never shopped there in the first place...
...Look... look... though if you will at my frugal delights....
These wallace and gromit toast pockets are fantastic... the boys love them... 61p each
These match boxes will be used to create money boxes for all the children for Christmas. Each box will be decorated and named (in tiny writing... see the big version from last year here). Each box will contain a crisp £5 note as a present.
You can never have enough cough mixture.. 50p
Never tried these but the cherry tomato one has vodka in. That won me over straight away...
I got alex some snicker and flapjack bars for him whilst he is on the go... a woman in the shop thought I was a bit greedy till I told her they were for my diabetic husband!
I am not sure what this is but I assume I will find some use for it. Why did I pick it up eh? probably because it was cheap! 37p
I am on a mission to find juice that isn't made from concentrate and managed to get these. I would have got a few more cartons. However, I spotted them on the first shopping trip and couldn't carry anymore of them.
Notice how I dealt with my guilt? A nice cup of tea! (oh.. and a prayer for all the workers)
How pathetic am I ?? I'm EXCITED about your bargains! It's like a dream...
Mind you, I DO have an 18 yr old son to feed.

Your so funny !!!
I recently read an artical that health wise there is no difference from drinking juice made from concentrate as there is from not, which I was surprised at, but there you are.
Is it okay if I put you under thrift on my side bar? As you do seem to likeyour thrift my dear !

I love your frugal bargains. I especially love your Wallace and Gromit toast packets, whatever those are. I love those little characters but I imagine your marketplace is probably saturated with them.
