Ohh! I got this post ready and then the computer crashed. How hilarious! Anyway I realised that I haven't posted for a week:) Too busy reading everyone's blogs and having summer fun with the boys.
This week it has rained... and... rained... and... rained... and... rained!
Thursday was a lovely day though. Off I went with my 2 boys, Kristy and her 4 girls and friend, Paula and her 2 girls and friend to the art gallery to see a fantasic exhibition celebrating 50 years of MIFFY, created by Dick Bruna.
Unlike Kristy who puts loads of pictures on flickr, I don't so these are a few of my highlights of the day. I'm sure Kristy will fill us all in with more photos later!
Miffy at the gallery (1994 silkscreen)
Zachariah being very scary
The buttons got Kristy all excited! 'Oh I have those horses in red. Look Paula Look'
This was a moment of quiet whilst everyone had a go at designing their own button.
Can you find Rupert? It was made out of paper and each strand was hung on a piece of cotton from the ceiling. It was massive and we loved this!
Paula liked this by Anna Spencer (Around the world 2005, Mixed media including buttons)
Look...
I'm sure you crafty american bloggers would be proud of good old Mickey marking your country!
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Miffy,
Happy birthday to YOU!
Rupert loved 'Jack Lights' made out of moulded plastic
Designed by Tom Dixon 1996
Produced by Eurolounge 1997
Obviously on the way back to the car we all got wet in the rain! (though we did get to stop off at a little chinese bakery in China town for some lovely teatime treats!)
ps. We bought lots of lovely Miffy treats from the gallery shop. Zach is insisting that Miffy is a boy as his keyring Miffy was wearing a blue dress but I would just like to say to Zach for the final time 'MIFFY IS A GIRL!'
It was a great day!!!
