Our church has transformed the youth & community building into a Narnia winter wonderland. It looks amazing! I will get pictures this weekend and post them next week. I couldn't get any on Sunday as there were too many excited faces and everyone wanted to see what was behind the wardrobe doors.
The children were asked to dress up in narnia costumes. Zach had a narnia costume from last year and I made Rupert's tunic out of one of my red tops and glued a golden lion on the front. I taped gold tape around the hem of the top. I don't really do sewing if I can help it so most of my craft is glue, sissors, tape, paint and black outline pens!
I made shields for the boys. Thankfully I had already made a sword for the viking outfit I made a few weeks ago for Rups and Zach's sword came with his outfit - so time saved there then!
I went onto the Wardrobe Door for shield and costume inspiration.
This is the results of my shield making!
Edmund's (for Zach) & Peter's (for Rupert)
Edmund's (for Zach)
Peter's (for Rupert)
This week, I've also had to make a ww2 costume for Rups for school. I made a simple gas mask box out of cardboard, brown paper and string (see managed once again to craft without sewing!)
Anyway i'm off to recycle and clean the house. What will you be doing today? Hope you enjoy the day anyway :)
